Endodontics, more commonly known as root canal therapy, is a procedure where the nerve of the tooth is removed. This is often due to the fact that it is infected and causing pain and/or swelling.
Rotary Endodontics is a way of removing the nerve and shaping the inside of the tooth utilizing a special handpiece, as opposed to years ago when the dentist used miniature files that were controlled by the dentist's fingers. This rotary handpiece makes the process much faster and more efficient, allowing the dentist to perform the procedure with greater ease- and very often in a single visit.
